The results of the December 2, 2007 general meeting and election found no candidates for the office of secretary and we were left one alternate board member short.

Our by-laws say: "The secretary shall record the minutes of the regular meetings and the meetings of the Board of Directors. ALL business correspondence shall go through the secretary and a complete file kept of same. He/she shall provide journals material covering the activities on the club and such other information of educational nature or interest to bird fanciers."

"The alternate will attend board meetings and offer input, but shall not vote on board decision."

In order for our board of directors to guide the club in a progressive manner we need these two positions filled as soon as possible. Please consider giving of your time and efforts to help the Greater Chicago Cage Bird Club keep moving forward. In addition, there are openings on several committees. if you would like to serve on any of the club's committees please contact me also.

John's Lutheran Church School Gymnasium at

All monthly meetings are open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend the meetings, participate, and learn about cage birds. Each meeting consists of the following: general business, coffee & sweets, speaker, and raffle. There are also adoption birds available.

At some meetings, a Vendor of the Month is present to sell bird supplies and bird-related products. Vendors interested in becoming a "Vendor of the Month" should contact the GCCBC Vice President. More information is available here.
